Feld Fire is expanding its service capabilities across Kansas with the addition of Dave Kordyak and Jon Hicks as Scott Service Technicians. The two techs bring decades of technical, automotive and fire service experience to Feld Fire, strengthening the company’s ability to provide responsive support for departments throughout the state.
Dave Kordyak: Serving Northern and Western Kansas
Kordyak will serve as a Scott Service Technician for Northern and Western Kansas, bringing 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, including oil changes, tire service and light maintenance. He retired from the City of Manhattan Fire Department after 27 years of service.
“I’m excited to bring my experience in automotive service and fire service to Feld Fire to help departments keep their equipment ready when they need it,” said Kordyak.
Jon Hicks: Serving Southern and Western Kansas
Hicks will serve customers in Southern and Western Kansas and is certified as both a Level 1 and Level 2 Scott Service Technician. His responsibilities include mobile and in-house repairs of 3M Scott Safety products, as well as compressor service.
Hicks brings more than 20 years of sales experience and more than 15 years of repair experience spanning automotive, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance. He is also an 18-year volunteer firefighter with Mulvane Fire Rescue (MFR), where he is Firefighter I and II certified and serves as a driver/trainer and pump operator.
His involvement with MFR extends beyond emergency response. Hicks currently serves as president of the department’s FFRA and oversees the upkeep and maintenance of the department’s first fire truck, a 1927 International.
“I’m looking forward to putting my technical and fire-service experience to work helping departments throughout Kansas,” said Hicks. “Being able to provide both SCBA and compressor service gives us another opportunity to help customers keep critical equipment in service.”

“Adding Dave and Jon strengthens our ability to support departments throughout Kansas,” said John Feld, president of Feld Fire. “Their combination of technical experience and firsthand fire service knowledge is a great fit for our customers and our commitment to providing service to keep departments equipped and prepared.”
