Great Gift Ideas for Firefighters

Posted by John on 2/25/2014 to Fire Equipment
Firefighting, whether in urban locations or the wilderness is an exhausting, intense, and challenging career. If you have loved ones working for any kind of firefighting team, here are some unique ideas to bring a smile to their day no matter the occasion.

Clothing and Drinkware

One of the easiest and most fun ways to express your support and encouragement to your special firefighter is through a T-shirt. Many T-shirts made especially for firefighters include firefighting decals and encouraging slogans.  The men and women who put their lives on the line for so many others can wear these shirts with pride. Some T-shirts even showcase their support for military, the police force and other rescue workers such as EMT’s.

Hooded sweatshirts or long sleeve T-shirts make for great gifts as well. These can be worn on or off the job, during a morning workout or even on a run to the grocery store. Look for cotton and fleece materials, as these are warm, soft, and easy to care for.

Mugs and pint glasses are another fun way to bring some goodhearted fun to the life of a firefighter or rescue personnel. Many mugs and pints are decorated with images to support the following:

·    American soldiers
·    Police officers
·    Sept. 11 rescue workers
·    Firefighters
·    Military groups

Items for Work

Men and women who fight fires can always use warm socks, gloves, and even flashlights. Look for socks and gloves composed of nylon, spandex, polyester and rubber. These materials help the socks to stretch and mold to the feet, and they are also durable. Gloves made from spandex and polyester will wick away moisture while providing protection from the elements and a cozy fit. Flashlights are another great to way to help firefighters stay warm in the cold weather. Look for flashlights with rechargeable batteries and LED light bulbs for long lasting bright life. Attaching hooks are perfect for keeping flashlights right at their fingertips for a quick and efficient use.

Firefighters and other law enforcement are well-trained and ready for whatever they may face. If you have a loved one involved in one of these professions, it never hurts to send a care package with some new gloves, socks or fun T-shirt to show your support and love.
