How to Choose Your Hunting Knife

The next thing you should consider is size. There's no need for an enormous, unwieldy machete, but you do need to consider what kind of game you're hunting. Generally the larger the game, the longer and sturdier you need the blade to be. Just make sure the knife fits comfortably, but won't slip when you need it.
The next tip is deciding between fixed blades and folding blades. Folding blades are smaller, can be more easily used for other purposes, and are easier to transport, whereas fixed blades are stronger, easier to clean, and more reliable. This ultimately depends on your lifestyle: If you hunt often, a fixed-blade is usually the better choice.
Finally the handle is important to consider. Traditional wood or bone handles are both functional and look great, but they're not very durable. Newer lightweight synthetic handles are much stronger, and will keep their grip even in the rain. And always make sure the handle is the right size for your hands.
Following these easy steps will ensure you have the perfect knife for the game you're after.
