Carroll, IA – The Wayne Volunteer Fire Department (WVFD) has helped protect the residents of Wayne, Nebraska for nearly 100 years. WCVFD recently expanded its fleet with the addition of Feld Fire/Spartan Emergency Response pumper.
Feld Fire, an industry-leading fire equipment provider and manufacturer based out of Carroll, Iowa, sold the new pumper unit to the Wayne Vol. Fire Department. The apparatus features a Spartan Metro Star ELFD chassis with a 10” raised roof.

Wayne is the county seat of Wayne County, Nebraska, and is the home of Wayne State College. As of 2021, Wayne had a population of roughly 6,000 residents. The WCVFD is made up of dedicated volunteer citizens who serve the City of Wayne as well as Wayne Rural Fire District No. 2. The county spans a total area of 443 square miles.
