Built for Strength, Safety, and Performance: Choose Extruded Wheeled Coach Ambulances.
Why extruded?
Not all ambulance bodies are built the same. Feld Fire partners with Wheeled Coach to provide fully extruded ambulance bodies designed for strength, consistency, and long-term performance. Unlike formed bodies that rely on stitched panels and filler, extruded construction uses a single-piece skin and engineered substructure to reduce weak points, minimize cracking, and improve overall safety for EMS personnel and patients.
The advantages of extruded Rev Group bodies:
- Single piece skin with extrusion substructure creates a strong, durable body that will last
- No stress concentrations or weak points for cracks to propagate on the skins
- Minimal body filler
- Consistent roll cage design

Rev Group extruded substructures:
- Strong
- Consistent
- Reliable

The disadvantages of other companies’ formed bodies:
- Multi-piece skins are stitch welded, creating weak points
- Exterior cracks initiate around body seams
- Lots of body filler used over seams and areas of heat distortion
- Imperfect bends on hat sections can create defects in the substructure

Other companies’ formed substructures:
- Elastic stress in any imperfect bends
- Inconsistent
- Missing 4th side
