Firefighting is a fascinating profession. For gadget-lovers, few jobs get any better than being a firefighter.

There are many different types of firefighting equipment and gadgets available for today's firefighter. This article reviews basic (and not so basic) firefighting equipment from a consumer's point of view.

Fire helmets. When choosing a fire helmet you want to look at the price, brand, and quality. You want to make sure the helmet gives you the protection you need in the most horrible fires. You want to look at the materials the helmet is made from as well. The better the materials, the better the protection.

Gloves and boots. The fire gloves and boots will help protect your feet and hands. You want to buy something that allows you to use your hands, but protects them as well. You also want boots that will protect your feet not only from the fire, but the debris that may fall on them as well.

Bunker gear. An essential part of a fire fighter's gear, the bunker gear covers the fire fighter's body. It is the suit that the fire fighters wear when fighting the fires and out on rescue calls. There are many different brands when it comes to bunker gear. Again, you want to look at the materials, price, and quality of the suit before buying. Most bunker great comes in one color, however you may be able to find a variety of colors if you wish.

Other. From eye protection to emergency lights, the list of firefighter gear is endless. Finding the right firefighter gear is important. Take your time and choose wisely when buying the gear for you. You may want to spend a few extra dollars to get the top quality products. After all, this gear will help save your live and many others as well.
